How Errandss meets its obligations under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act.
Our commitment
Errandss (Pty) Ltd processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This page explains how we meet our obligations as a responsible party under the Act, alongside our full Privacy Policy.
Lawful basis for processing
We process personal information where you have consented, where it is necessary to perform a booking or contract with you, to comply with a legal obligation (such as tax or KYC/AML requirements for providers), or for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud prevention and platform security.
Information Officer
Errandss has appointed an Information Officer responsible for POPIA compliance, as required under the Act. You can reach the Information Officer at privacy@errandsza.com for any request relating to how your personal information is processed.
Your rights as a data subject
Under POPIA, you have the right to be notified that your information is being collected, to access the personal information we hold about you, to request correction or deletion of inaccurate or unlawfully processed information, and to object to processing in certain circumstances. Contact us at privacy@errandsza.com to exercise any of these rights.
Special personal information
Where verification requires it (for example, provider KYC), we may process limited special personal information such as identity document details. This is only processed with your consent and as necessary to verify identity and comply with our legal obligations.
Cross-border transfers
Some of our service providers, such as payment processors and cloud infrastructure providers, may process data outside South Africa. Where this happens, we only use providers that maintain an adequate level of data protection consistent with POPIA.
Lodging a complaint
If you believe we have not handled your personal information in line with POPIA, please contact us first at privacy@errandsza.com so we can resolve it directly. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
